General Tips for you
When packing for a trip to Costa Rica, you should consider the following items:
• Clothing: Pack lightweight, breathable clothing, swimwear, and fast-drying clothes.If you're visiting during the rainy season (May–November), you should also bring a rain jacket or poncho, waterproof shoes or sandals, and quick-drying clothes.
• Sun protection: Bring a hat or visor to protect yourself from the sun, as well as reef-safe sunscreen with at least SPF 30.
• Insect repellent: Bring mosquito repellent to fend off mosquitoes, especially during the rainy season.
• Footwear: Bring comfortable sandals, hiking shoes, or trail running shoes.
• Electronics: Bring a waterproof phone case, a camera, a phone battery, a charger, and a travel adapter.
• First aid kit: Pack a basic first aid kit with band-aids, aloe vera, painkillers, and any personal medication.
• Water bottle: Bring a reusable water bottle to reduce plastic usage and save money.
• Documents: Bring your passport, ID, return tickets, and driver's license if you intend to rent a car.
• Toiletries: Bring travel-sized toiletries like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, body wash, shampoo, deodorant, and shaving cream.
• Baggage: Bring a large backpack or a suitcase, and a small backpack for day trips.
